Double-wall plate heat exchanger

Double-wall is used in processes where dangerous reactions are expected when two fluids mix, such as in bioplants, where mixing accidents could have adverse effects on the external environment. It employs a special pair-plate with a double structure, combined in the same manner as conventional "plate-type" designs. In the unlikely event that cracks or pinholes occur in the plates, the fluid will flow out through the gap of the pair-plate to the outside of the heat exchanger, preventing the mixing of the two fluids and allowing for safe operation. It can accommodate applications that have traditionally used multi-tube heat exchangers, double circuit intercoolers, and indirect heating coils, and is effective in various processes including the cooling of transformer oil, heating of drinking water, and in chemical, bioplant, food, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
