Anritsu Corporation (President Koichi Hamada) will begin general sales of the world's first* non-destructive NIR tablet inspection device "Ariphas" using transmission-type NIR (Near Infrared Spectroscopy) for comprehensive inspection of tablet interiors on February 3, 2026. This device advances the quality evaluation of tablets, which has primarily relied on destructive sampling inspections, to a comprehensive inspection of all tablets' interiors. Since it can conduct a comprehensive inspection of the components of tablets, it can assess the uniformity of the component amounts in shipped tablets and also inspect different types of tablets. Additionally, it can detect biological foreign substances, such as hair and insects, that have been difficult to discover with conventional inspection techniques. In manufacturing environments where strict quality control and labor shortages are increasing, this device, which enables inline comprehensive inspections, is expected to improve the quality of pharmaceuticals.
