The construction of offshore highways presents many challenges. In particular, it is necessary to lift concrete foundation blocks and accurately position them on the seabed, place supports, and ultimately assist in connecting to the bridge deck. The type of crane technology suitable for this specific project includes strand jacks or winches for lifting, and skids or trolleys for moving the blocks. We have chosen a trolley system that offers several clear advantages. It allows for continuous movement of the blocks and variable speed, enabling high-speed positioning when lowering the crane. Furthermore, it has very limited maintenance costs compared to skidding systems.
