ビーム反射検出方式とビーム遮断検出方式、マイクロ波の２つの検出方式
パル技研では「マイクロ波」を使用した各種センサを開発しておりますが、今回はそれらを使ってどうやって侵入を検知するのかをご説明します。 ◆◆2つの検出方式◆◆ 当社のマイクロ波センサは、2つの検出方式に対応しています。 １) ビーム反射検出方式 1台のセンサを設置し、そこから出力される送信波が検知エリアとなります。 検知の範囲はセンサのアンテナ角度によりますが、センサ単体で広い距離をカバーします。 センサからの送信波にターゲットが当たると、反射波として受信し、「侵入」として検知します。 ２）ビーム遮断方式 こちらはセンサとリフレクタを対向させることで検知エリアを構成します。 センサから出力される送信波が、リフレクタに当たり、反射波として受信しています。 また、送信機と受信機で検知エリアを構成する製品もあります。 こちらも送信機から出力される送信波を受信機で受信しています。 どちらの場合も、送受信の基準となるレベルを監視しており、侵入によってその電波が遮断され、レベルがしきい値を下回ると、「侵入」として検知します。

《マイクロ波って何？》
マイクロ波とは電波であり、電磁波の一種です。 電磁波は、繰り返す波として伝わっていくもので その1秒間に繰り返す波の数を周波数といいます。（周波数の単位はヘルツ（Hz）で表します。） そして波の頂上から頂上までの長さを波長といいます。 電磁波はその周波数により呼び方が変わり、 それぞれの特性に応じて用途も変わるのです。 当社ではその中の、周波数が3GHzから30GHz（波長が10cmから1cm）の電波を「マイクロ波」と呼んでおり、 マイクロ波センサに24GHz帯の電波を使用しています。 ◆◆マイクロ波の特長◆◆ マイクロ波の特長としては ・直進性が高い ・雨、霧、降雪などの気象変化に強い ・樹脂等を透過するので、障害物の影響を受けない などが挙げられます。 それらの特長と当社独自のアルゴリズム（信号処理技術）により、厳しい環境の中でも長距離の検知ができるのです。 また、当社センサは免許不要で使用することができます。 国内では屋内外を問わず使用できるので、様々なシチュエーションでの設置が可能となります。

パル技研では「マイクロ波」を使用した各種センサを開発しております。 一口に「マイクロ波センサ」と言っても、そこには様々な目的・用途のものがあり、それぞれに特長があるのです。 その特長をみなさんに是非知っていただきたい！ということで、今日は当社の製品をご紹介したいと思います。 今回ご紹介するのは、「マイクロ波マルチスパンセンサ（BSS200-P1）」です。 マルチスパンセンサは1台から送られるマイクロ波を複数台で受信することもできます。（最大3台まで） 通常の1対1の送受信機を数段設置した場合に比べて、電波の隙間（死角）がなくなります。 このマルチリンク機能により、より広い範囲の検知が可能となるのです。
