Custom Blades for Food Processing Machinery [Case Study]
Companies introducing overseas machinery, please consult us for cost reduction and shorter delivery times through changes in blade manufacturing methods and proposals for replacement blade systems.
We would like to introduce a case study from Company M, which adopted Arus's "replaceable blade system." The company was sourcing blades from overseas due to their machinery being imported, but the lost-wax integrated blades were very expensive and had a lead time of over three months, which was problematic. In response, Arus proposed a replaceable blade system that separates the blade from the holder, using a material that is resistant to chipping. By introducing the replaceable blade system, the unit cost of the blades decreased, and when they wore out, only the blades could be replaced while keeping the holder intact. By using a more chip-resistant material, the lifespan was extended, resulting in an overall cost reduction of approximately 78%. 【Implementation Effects (Excerpt)】 ■ Blade Replacement Time (i.e., Line Downtime) - Before Implementation: Replaced every 3 days, 15 minutes × 80 times a year = 1,200 minutes = 20 hours - After Implementation: Replaced every 5 days, 15 minutes × 48 times a year = 720 minutes = 12 hours → Reduction of 8 hours (60% reduction in replacement time) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
