[Production Example] Catheter Tube Medical Blade
We will introduce a case where the adoption of super hard materials has significantly improved the durability of the blade!
We would like to introduce a case in which we received an inquiry from a medical device manufacturer regarding the desire to "cut a silicone tube with a diameter of less than 1mm, without burrs, and at an angle." The tubes used for catheters are extremely thin and are inserted into narrow internal pathways such as blood vessels, making them critical components that require high safety standards. An angled cut expands the cross-section, so the thickness of the blade and the angle of the cutting edge are directly linked to the quality. In response, we proposed a thin-blade design of a carbide round blade, which achieved an extremely smooth cutting surface while suppressing deformation of the tube. Additionally, the use of carbide material significantly improved the durability of the blade. 【Case Overview】 ■ Challenge: To cut a silicone tube with a diameter of less than 1mm, without burrs, and at an angle ■ Proposal: Thin-blade design of a carbide round blade ■ Processing Details: Achieved an extremely smooth cutting surface while suppressing deformation of the tube ■ Result: The use of carbide material significantly improved the durability of the blade *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
