Molding process of carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin (CFRTP).

We perform hot stamping molding (TAM molding) and hybrid molding, among others.

Asai Sangyo Co., Ltd. is engaged in the molding of carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin (CFRTP). In hot stamping molding, carbon fiber woven fabric and thermoplastic resin film are laminated and hot stamped using molds capable of rapid heating and rapid cooling. This method allows for high-temperature molding that is difficult with methods using electric heating wires or steam. It is also capable of molding complex shapes that are challenging with thermoplastic prepregs. This method utilizes patented technology and is referred to as TAM (Thermo Assisted Molding) molding. The TAM molding method uses high-frequency electric current, resulting in less waste compared to methods using steam or heaters, and can heat the mold above the resin's melting point in a short time. Additionally, hybrid molding of continuous fiber CFRP and long fiber injection molding is a molding method that inserts hot-stamped continuous fibers into injection molding. It enables the integral molding of high strength, high rigidity, and complex shapes. **Features** [Hot Stamping Molding] - Direct electric heating method for molds - Material costs are halved compared to thermoplastic prepregs [Hybrid Molding] - Various shapes of metal products can be replaced with CFRP - Achieves strength comparable to aluminum alloys at half the weight

basic information

【Features】 [Hot Stamping Molding] (TAM Molding) ○ Direct electric heating method to the mold: Patent No. 5107417 ○ Enables high-temperature molding that is difficult with methods using electric heating wires or steam ○ Capable of molding complex shapes that are challenging with thermoplastic prepregs ○ In the molding method that simultaneously impregnates resin, material costs are halved compared to thermoplastic prepregs. ○ Using high-frequency current, it can heat the mold above the resin melting point in a shorter time with less waste compared to methods using steam or heaters. [Hybrid Molding] ○ Various shapes of metal products can be replaced with CFPR ○ Achieves strength comparable to aluminum alloys at half the weight [Long Fiber Reinforced Resin Injection Molding] ○ Uses chopped fibers for high strength at low cost ○ Chopped fibers are added and mixed after the resin melts, resulting in less breakage of long fibers and improved strength ○ Reduces material costs by 40% compared to compounded pellets ○ Compatible with various resin materials ● For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.
