The December issue of Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun's "Mold Technology" features a collection of papers from the "Mold Technology Workshop 2022 in Gifu." This collection includes 43 general presentation papers related to mold processing, pressing and forging, injection molding, die casting, and the digitalization of manufacturing, all presented at the "Mold Technology Workshop" held on Thursday, November 17, at Juuroku Plaza in Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture. ■ "Friction Modeling with TriboForm" Masakazu Muramoto, AutoForm Japan In conventional press forming simulations, the definition of the friction coefficient based on Coulomb's law is common. However, in actual press forming, many disturbances occur, such as surface pressure, speed, and lubrication conditions, which cause the friction coefficient to change sequentially. As an example of solving this issue, we will introduce the concept of friction modeling with TriboForm, along with practical application cases in AutoForm. Please take a look.

The TriboForm Analyzer is a standalone software that efficiently simulates, displays, and evaluates friction and lubrication conditions. This product includes the TriboForm library, which contains a comprehensive set of tribological data related to thin sheet materials and mold materials that are frequently used in the press forming industry, as well as general lubrication information. Additionally, the results can be directly exported to the TriboForm FEM Plug-In. By using the TriboForm FEM Plug-In, you can integrate the results of TriboForm into common FEM simulation software.
