Power demand is significantly increasing not only in major countries but also in developing countries due to remarkable development. Among these, thermal power generation is attracting global attention for Japan's advanced technological capabilities. Benkan Kiko, as a behind-the-scenes supporter, continues to supply welded pipe fittings tailored to various applications, including main steam pipes, high-pressure reheat steam pipes, low-pressure reheat steam pipes, and turbine bypass pipes, in response to diverse customer needs. The photo shows products delivered to a thermal power plant in Taiwan (800MW), manufactured according to ASME standards. One of the materials used is "B31 CASE183," which has a high chromium (Cr) content and is enriched with trace elements such as tungsten (W) and boron (B), making it a very hard material that remains unaffected even at high temperatures (above 500°C). Due to this property, the ease of plastic processing (bendability) is inversely proportional when manufacturing elbows. At Benkan Kiko, we have a track record of supplying to various fields including thermal and nuclear power plants, petrochemical plants, LNG plants, gas pipelines and stations, shipbuilding plants, and more. This time, we introduced some of our large-diameter seamless products for thermal power generation, but we can also accommodate sizes exceeding 28 inches in outer diameter and thicknesses over 100 mm. Additionally, our welding technology is of a high standard, allowing us to conduct hydrostatic tests at Benkan Kiko and deliver directly to the site after performing simple prefabrication, thereby helping our customers reduce costs.
