Non-ferrous metal aluminum pipe fittings
Benkan Kiko also manufactures aluminum pipe fittings.
At Benkan Kiko, we have a wealth of experience in the manufacturing of aluminum and aluminum alloy pipe fittings. Characteristics of Aluminum: - It is lightweight and easy to process, but has low strength. - It has good thermal conductivity. - Its toughness does not decrease at low temperatures, making it suitable for use in extremely low temperatures, such as liquid hydrogen at -252.7°C. - It has excellent weather resistance due to the formation of an oxide film when it reacts with oxygen in the atmosphere; however, this oxide film can be destroyed in acidic or alkaline environments, making it particularly vulnerable to chloride ions and alkaline conditions. Due to these characteristics, aluminum is a material that is difficult to shape and weld. However, it offers significant advantages such as corrosion resistance and maintained toughness at low temperatures, making it suitable for piping in harsh corrosive environments like seawater, as well as for extremely low-temperature piping and tanks for liquefied natural gas and liquid hydrogen. At Benkan Kiko, we have established shaping and welding technologies through years of accumulated expertise and know-how, enabling us to manufacture with delicate materials like aluminum. Additionally, based on our extensive experience and numerous achievements, we can flexibly address various problem-solving needs. Please feel free to consult or request our services with confidence.
basic information
The main materials used for pipe fittings are aluminum alloys from the 1000 series of pure aluminum, the 5000 series with added magnesium (Mg), and the 6000 series containing silicon (Si) and magnesium (Mg). Applications/Examples of results
Aluminum alloy butt-welded pipe fittings are used in low-temperature applications, such as around the tanks of LNG carriers, low-temperature piping in air separation unit cryogenic boxes, and piping for low-temperature heat exchangers. They are also utilized for their corrosion resistance in seawater piping for LNG (liquefied natural gas) vaporizers and in piping for chemical plants.
