Hydrophilic silica and hydrophobic silica in epoxy resin Fired silica is stirred and mixed into epoxy resin with a dissolver. Hydrophilic silica (right) mixes faster than hydrophobic silica (left).

BYK's wetting and dispersing agents finely and uniformly disperse solid particles in the liquid phase, achieving long-term stabilization of the system. The additives stabilize pigments (inorganic, organic, and pearlescent pigments) and fillers. The liquid phase consists of water and various organic solvents with different polarities.
