Piezoelectric wire sensor technology for driving servo motors.
Explanation of the detection mechanism of piezoelectric wire sensors. Motors that can be considered as drive shafts for winding machines and automated transport vehicles equipped with sensors.
The use of "piezoelectric wire sensors" is expanding as sensors that detect minute vibrations and pressure. Unlike ceramic piezoelectric elements, these sensors are made from flexible piezoelectric materials such as fluororesin (PVDF, etc.) processed into a coaxial cable shape, making it easy to arrange them on curved surfaces and lay them over long distances, which is their most significant feature. When mechanical stress such as pressure, bending, or vibration is applied to the sensor, a voltage is generated due to the piezoelectric effect (piezo effect). They do not require a power supply (self-generating) and can capture minute changes with "high-speed response" in the microsecond range, from low frequencies of a few hertz to ultrasonic bands (broadband). Utilizing this characteristic, they are used in applications such as contact detection bumpers for AGVs (automated guided vehicles), vital sensing in monitoring beds, and monitoring film tension and abnormal vibrations on manufacturing lines. Although we are not a sensor manufacturer, we handle motor products that can be incorporated into "precise tension control of film winding machines" and "drive units of AGVs equipped with contact sensors" that operate in conjunction with such high-sensitivity sensors.
basic information
■ Technical Key Points of Piezoelectric Wire Sensors - Piezoelectric Effect: A phenomenon where charge is generated in proportion to the applied force (strain). It is superior in detecting dynamic changes (vibration, impact) rather than static pressure (constant pressure). - Flexibility and Noise Resistance: The coaxial cable structure makes it less susceptible to external electromagnetic noise (EMI), allowing for accurate transmission of small signals to the amplifier. - Wide Bandwidth Characteristics: Covers a wide range from small low frequencies such as human breathing and pulse to high frequencies for detecting abnormal vibrations in machinery and collisions. ■ Features of AC Servo Motors for Sensor-Linked Devices (CMS Series) - High-Speed Response: Can utilize feedback from the encoder to perform immediate stops or torque adjustments without delay in response to abnormal signals detected by the sensor (collisions or tension fluctuations). - We conduct domestic inspections for prototypes and small lots, ensuring delivery of all units.
Price information
We have adopted a cored design using powerful neodymium magnets and established a production system for standard stock items, resulting in excellent pricing and delivery times. Prices may vary depending on annual usage quantities, the number of lots, and the presence of drivers and gearheads, so if you are looking to reduce costs, please feel free to request a quote. Our sales department will do its utmost to accommodate your budget and preferences.
