Coherent, Inc. (Santa Clara, California, USA) released its new product, the HighLight DL4000HPR, a compact, high-power, fiber-delivery semiconductor laser system, on June 1, 2018. This model is suitable for metal processing applications such as cladding, thermal processing, and brazing, offering unparalleled convenience and cost performance. The HighLight DL4000HPR features several attractive characteristics for both equipment manufacturers and end users. With its built-in power and control systems, it achieves a very compact footprint and can be mounted in a 19-inch rack. This makes it an ideal model for applications where installation space is a critical requirement, such as in automotive and semiconductor manufacturing environments. Furthermore, the HighLight DL4000HPR uses an indirect water-cooled semiconductor laser, eliminating the need for facilities such as high-purity deionized water or dedicated DI cartridges, making it easy to implement. It also achieves a high conversion efficiency of 45%, resulting in low energy consumption and low operating costs.
