01. Initiatives for Smart Factory Development by Cosmo Giken 02. Establishing a Hierarchical FA System 03. Next-Generation Smart Factory Proposed by Cosmo Giken
basic information
Building a hierarchical FA system ◆ The first layer (automation equipment) is the product manufacturing system at the device/control level, where PLCs, equipment, and RBs are arranged. ◆ The second layer (process management system) is the layer of various systems such as "progress management," "process control," and "quality control," based on data stored on PCs and servers. ◆ The remote management system enables remote control by building a remote access system using VPN within the "process management system" (the line coming out of the VPN connects to the second layer, but remote control is possible from the second to the first layer). ◆ The third layer (ERP) in this diagram represents the production planning management system at the customer's site. By linking the customer's production planning data with the second layer's "process management system," synchronization of production plans can be achieved.

Applications/Examples of results
By introducing technologies using AI, IoT, and big data throughout the entire factory, we aim to realize a factory that is "visible," "connected," and "unstoppable." By networking devices such as robots and sensors, the headquarters can timely grasp the status of each factory. Utilizing IoT technology enables appropriate "equipment maintenance" and "preventive maintenance," allowing us to prevent unexpected equipment failures in advance. In the event of a factory trouble, our internal system at Cosmo Giken will collaborate with the customer's system to provide remote support. This is the "next-generation smart factory" that we are advancing. With technology that significantly improves the challenges of factories that have been difficult until now, we will achieve the "ultimate efficiency" of our customers' factories.
