A spray droplet particle measurement system that replaces phase Doppler method and laser diffraction method.
AOM Systems' SpraySpy is a completely new spray droplet/spray particle measurement system that uses a unique pulse displacement method (Time-Shift technique). It has obtained international patents and can simultaneously measure the size, velocity, and particle density of opaque or non-spherical particles and high-density spray particles, which was difficult with existing technologies such as phase Doppler method or laser diffraction method. Additionally, since the laser emission and detection parts are the same for detecting backscattered light, it eliminates the need for complicated adjustments of the detection part's position.

SpraySpy consists of two detectors installed between a single light source and the light source itself. The laser light emitted from the light source is scattered (reflected) by the target droplets/particles, and the scattered light (reflected light) is detected by each of the detectors. At this time, there is a slight difference in the timing (peak position) at which the scattered light (reflected light) enters each detector. This difference is defined as a time shift and is correlated with factors such as the size and velocity of the particles, allowing for the measurement of the state of the spray droplets and particles.
