High-precision viscosity measurement with a minimum of 10μL of micro-sample, up to 100,000 cp. Fully automated system compatible with 96-well plates. Also supports shear rate scanning.
A new ultra-micro viscometer utilizing microfluidic control and microelectromechanical systems technology. The VROC Initium is a fully automated model that handles everything from sample introduction to channel cleaning, solving the issues of traditional viscosity measurement that required cumbersome procedures and large sample volumes. It contributes to research and development and quality control across a wide range of fields, including biopharmaceuticals, biological samples, inkjet inks, various petrochemical products, and battery materials. The ultra-micro sample viscometer manufactured by Leosense employs an innovative measurement system that utilizes Microfluidics and MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technology. When a sample is flowed through a rectangular microchannel (depth: 20–100 μm), multiple sensors arranged within the channel measure the pressure. When the measurements and positions of each sensor are graphed, they form a straight line. It is generally known that the slope of this line is proportional to viscosity, and viscosity is calculated from that slope.
