The powerful ultrasonic extraction technology is a new method for separating physiologically active compounds from plants using a high-amplitude, high-intensity Hielscher ultrasonic device.

Ultrasonic extraction is an effective new technology for isolating bioactive compounds from plants. However, ultrasonic extraction must be powerful to be successful, and Heelscher ultrasound generates high output and low frequency, producing intense cavitation. It moves energetically through the liquid in a slurry made of plant materials in the solvent, where extreme temperatures, pressures, heating/cooling rates, and pressure differentials create locally intense shock waves. When cavitation bubbles collapse on the surface of solids (particles, plant cells, tissues, etc.), micro-jets and partial collisions generate effects such as surface peeling, erosion, particle destruction, sonoporation (penetration of cell walls and membranes), and cell destruction. Until now, ultrasonic equipment could achieve localized processing in laboratories, but scaling up ultrasonic equipment for production was not possible. Heelscher ultrasonic equipment ensures high output (50,000W) and guarantees continuous operation for 24 hours. The erosion dispersion achieved through 100% cavitation by ultrasound allows for results that could not be achieved by shear force.
