[Case Study on Gas Detector Introduction] FAUN Umwelttechnik Co., Ltd.
Introducing examples of achieving both clean energy utilization and safety. Ensuring the safety of engineers handling hydrogen-powered vehicles with gas detectors.
The German company FAUN, a manufacturer of garbage collection and cleaning vehicles, has been researching alternative drive systems for over 20 years, believing that hydrogen can significantly contribute to reducing carbon dioxide emissions. They developed the fuel cell-driven truck "BLUEPOWER," which is equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell as a range extender. However, if hydrogen leaks from pipes or their joints and comes into contact with oxygen, a highly combustible gas mixture is generated. Therefore, the presence of a reliable gas detection system was absolutely essential. In collaboration with Dräger, they introduced the "Dräger PEX 3000 Transmitter" and "Dräger Polytron SE Ex Sensor Head" as a high-efficiency and simple solution for all vehicle maintenance facilities, usable in customer centers throughout Germany. The measurements are analyzed using the "Dräger REGARD(R) 3900 Control System," which displays concentration and current information on the screen. Through continuous support, they ensure the safety of engineers when handling hydrogen-powered vehicles. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or contact us.*
