[Case Study] Fully Wireless SIL2 Gas Detection System

Reliable wireless in densely packed refineries with multiple structures! Large-scale implementation case.

We would like to introduce a case study of the implementation of the SIL2 wireless gas detection system at the Kalundborg refinery (Denmark) by Equinor, an energy company in Norway. The main objective of this project was to improve the gas detection coverage in three processing areas identified through risk analysis, but we faced challenges in installation within the densely packed plant area and in detecting gases in confined spaces. However, the installation of the wireless devices was straightforward, and physical and logistical obstacles were quickly overcome, revealing the flexibility to add or modify the system later.
