Hair straightening refers to a technique that fixes curly or strongly wavy hair in a straight state. It can straighten most types of wavy hair and maintain the straight condition for a semi-permanent period. In particular, it seems that people who want to be freed from stubborn wavy hair problems, are troubled by excessive volume, or find hair care on rainy days or during humid periods to be bothersome often opt for hair straightening. However, since heat is applied to straighten the hair, some degree of damage should be expected. The method of hair straightening begins by using a straightening agent to break the bonds in the hair, creating a soft hair state. Then, heat is applied using an iron or similar tool to straighten the hair. Finally, another straightening agent is used to re-bond the hair, completing the hair straightening process by keeping the straightened hair in place. On the other hand, a straight perm is a technique that can almost completely remove artificially created waves from perming and return the hair to a straight state. However, it cannot straighten naturally wavy hair. Instead, it is characterized by causing less damage to the hair compared to methods that use straightening agents.
