Ecold clinch joint
Surely join multiple thin plates with complete cold joining! We have everything from hand tools to dedicated frames.
- Sheet metal is plastically deformed at room temperature and mechanically joined. - There are two types of joint shapes: rectangular (S-DF) and round (R-DF). - The dimensions of the main joint points are rectangular = width 4mm, round = φ8mm. - The minimum sheet thickness is 0.5mm (per sheet), and the corresponding total sheet thickness varies by tool. - Joint strength depends on the joint shape and base material strength. - There is no thermal impact on the base material. - There is no generation of spatter or fumes. - The only consumables are the punch and die, and no auxiliary materials are required. - It also accommodates joints with different materials and sheet thicknesses. * The YouTube video introduces examples of rectangular (S-DF) and dedicated machine usage in Germany.
basic information
At the trade fair in Hannover, Germany in 1981, Ecolord showcased the clinch joining (rectangular, S-DF type) for the first time. In 1990, the round, R-DF type was introduced. It is used for joining in applications such as assembly of sheet metal parts, air ducts, coil lines, and automotive lines. Leveraging over 40 years of know-how, we offer a wide variety of products ranging from hand tools to dedicated frames.
