In May 2023 (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo), Edmund Optics® (EO) Japan Corporation has started selling the 1064nm 2X-8X Gemma™ Variable Beam Expander, further expanding its inventory of products. This beam expander features high LIDT and a fixed tube length, designed for high-power laser applications that require strict spatial constraints. To minimize beam jitter, it employs a mechanism that allows for internal lens movement and focus adjustment without rotation. Additionally, with the ability to adjust magnification from 2X to 8X, prototyping to determine system magnification is made easier. The 1064nm 2X-8X Gemma™ Variable Beam Expander is designed with Gaussian beams in mind, utilizing a non-rotating lens in a Galileo design and achieving high pointing accuracy while maintaining a compact tube length of 158mm with a ghost-free focus. The Gemma™ Variable Beam Expander is available for quick delivery through stock sales.
