Edmund Optics (EO) of the United States has started the release of the "TECHSPEC Low-Cost YAG Laser Beam Expander" through its Japanese subsidiary, Edmund Optics Japan Co., Ltd. This product features a simple Galileo design consisting of two lenses, providing cost-effective diffraction-limited performance at a design beam diameter of 1-2mm (exact values depend on the model). The beam expander is used to enlarge the diameter of a collimated incoming beam, creating a larger output beam with a smaller divergence angle, making it ideal for applications such as laser scanning, laser material processing, interference experiments, and remote sensing.
