Edmund Optics introduces diamond turning processing.

In July 2018 (Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo), the Japanese subsidiary of Edmund Optics (EO), Edmund Optics Japan Co., Ltd., announced the introduction of single-point diamond turning processing for the manufacturing of high-precision optical components at EO. This manufacturing technology utilizes machines such as lathes equipped with tool bits that have diamond chips to process precision elements. By using this ultra-precision machining, it is possible to create surface shapes with an accuracy of less than a few nanometers.
