basic information
AdvantEdgeFEM is a cutting simulation that analyzes the behavior of the tool, workpiece, and chips during the cutting process through simulation. From the cutting simulation results, it predicts the three cutting forces (main cutting force, feed force, and radial force), machining temperature (tool, workpiece, and chips), shear angle, workpiece distortion, burr formation, and the prediction of the machined altered layer. Various cutting phenomena that cannot be obtained through experiments can be reproduced through cutting simulation.

Applications/Examples of results
Although I had no experience in analysis work using CAE, I felt that I could apply it to my work because AdvantEdgeFEM allows for cutting simulation analysis with easy-to-understand input parameters for machinists. The explanation of how to utilize the cutting simulation analysis results was helpful. Since I am using other analysis software and CAD, it was great to be able to ask detailed questions about the cutting simulation analysis methods using AdvantEdgeFEM. There was an instructor who was well-versed in LS-DYNA and Abaqus. I am already utilizing cutting process simulations with AdvantEdgeFEM within the company, but I participated for training purposes as I have recently become the person in charge. I was able to receive explanations about the relationship with cutting process simulations using ProductionModule and materials model documentation, which I want to use for future cutting simulation analysis work.
