The SafeHold lifting magnet is a high-performance, highly reliable permanent magnet lifting magnet proudly manufactured by Eriez Manufacturing. It does not require a power source, eliminating the risk of dropping during power outages, making it highly regarded in environments where safety is the top priority. It is capable of handling a wide range of workpieces, including flat steel, steel plates, round steel, steel pipes, and castings. It exhibits a high holding force of up to 7,500 lbs (approximately 3.4 tons), providing stable adhesion from thin plates to thick plates and round materials. Additionally, its highly operable handle mechanism and ASME B30.20 compliant design based on load conditions ensure safe and reliable lifting operations. RPL Series: General-purpose, rare earth type. The SafeHold series offers various models including RPL, XPL, EPL, and APL according to different applications. The maximum capacity ranges from 113 to 3,402 kg for flat plates and from 56 to 567 kg for round materials (some models can handle up to 1,350 kg). The magnetic force performs best on smooth and clean steel plates, and surface contaminants such as dirt, paint, scale, and unevenness (air gaps) can affect holding power. Each model of RPL, XPL, and EPL allows for one-handed operation with a locking handle. The APL model achieves complete hands-free operation through a hoist interlocking mechanism (see the video on this page). RPL and XPL models can accommodate a wide range of diameters for round materials, while EPL and APL models are designed for flat plates. Constructed in compliance with ASME B30.20 standards, the maximum holding force is approximately twice the rated capacity. A safety factor of 3:1 or greater is recommended against the actual breakaway load. The weight varies widely by model, ranging from 7 to 586 lbs, allowing for selection based on specific site applications.
