Application Example: "Wastewater Treatment: Fixed Bed Filtration Method"
Proposal for air supply valve to the ventilation tank.
The "fixed bed filtration method" is a wastewater treatment method in which the aeration zone and the non-aeration zone are physically separated, allowing biological wastewater treatment, biomass retention, and solid filtration to occur within a single reaction tank. Unlike conventional activated sludge methods, bacteria are not freely suspended; instead, they are attached as a biofilm to balls made of expanded clay or plastic (such as polystyrene). The bacteria attached to the fixed bed convert contaminants into biomass. This biomass is retained on the filter media along with the solids present in the wastewater.
