Cold-resistant, heat-resistant, thin diameter, thin-walled polyimide tube

High-performance resin tube with excellent cold and heat resistance, featuring a thin-walled, small diameter design.

The cold and heat resistance of polyimide is -269°C to +400°C. Its cold and heat resistance, which surpasses that of fluorine-based resins, is attracting attention from various industries. However, polyimide is a material that is difficult to process due to its insolubility, non-fusibility, and non-flammability. Therefore, when using polyimide as a wiring insulation material, polyimide film was typically spiral-wound and bonded with adhesive to create tubing. This method does not fully utilize the cold and heat resistance of polyimide. Consequently, we developed a seamless polyimide tube through integral molding.

basic information

■Heat Resistance It can withstand temperatures of 220°C during regular use and up to 400°C for short periods. Due to its thermosetting nature, it carbonizes at temperatures above 800°C. It is self-extinguishing and does not emit toxic gases, making it excellent in terms of safety. ■Adhesion It can be effectively bonded with most adhesives. Additionally, it has strong resistance to chemicals other than alkalis and radiation. This provides new possibilities for chemical plants and nuclear power facilities. ■Flexural Strength It has a special multi-layer structure, making it strong against repeated impacts and bending, with no risk of delamination or tearing. It is safe for use in movable parts. ■Thin-Walled Being a resin that is strong in tension and has good flexibility, it can produce tubes with a minimum inner diameter of 0.2mm and a wall thickness of 0.04mm. There is no need to worry about space in electronic devices that require wiring in small parts. ■Workability When comparing the wire-pulling workability of fluoropolymer tubes and polyimide tubes, fluoropolymer tubes tend to bend easily at the tip, making it difficult for wires to pass through smoothly. In contrast, polyimide tubes are strong and smooth with low friction, allowing for quick and easy wire-pulling operations. Additionally, their excellent heat resistance provides peace of mind during soldering work, ensuring a smooth mass production process.
