Glass processing - Notching processing
It is a process of cutting glass to avoid beams, etc.
This is an introduction to the process of cutting a portion of glass at our company. There are two types of notches: "L-shaped notch," which cuts the corners into a square shape, and "U-shaped notch," which cuts the edges (small sides) into a square shape. The corners created during cutting will have a curve of 5R (radius 5mm) for rough grinding and 12R (radius 12mm) or more for polishing. Performing notch processing may significantly reduce the strength of the glass. We recommend also carrying out strengthening processing. <Features> ■ Cutting method 1: L-shaped notch that cuts the corners into a square shape ■ Cutting method 2: U-shaped notch that cuts the edges (small sides) into a square shape ■ The corners created during cutting will have a curve of 5R (radius 5mm) for rough grinding ■ For polishing, the curve will be 12R (radius 12mm) or more ■ We recommend also carrying out strengthening processing.
