With the three-phase induction motor (motor) now meeting the IE3 standard, the starting current has significantly increased. When updating fire hydrant pumps and smoke exhaust fans, I've heard that costs have risen due to increasing generator capacity, adding inverters, and associated measures for harmonics. By controlling the voltage for the start and stop of pumps and blowers, the starting current can be reduced, and water hammer can be eliminated.
