To accelerate and enhance the precision of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and machine tools, suppressing the vibrations generated during machine operation is key. Our company has developed a new hybrid technology that significantly improves damping properties while ensuring the necessary rigidity of the structure by filling a rigid cast iron structure with an appropriate amount and shape of a damping material known as mineral casting (a type of polymer concrete). By adopting this hybrid technology in the structural components of machines, it becomes possible to achieve a level of acceleration and precision that was unattainable with conventional software-controlled vibration countermeasures alone.

The German RAMPF Group and its Japanese subsidiary RAMPF Group Japan Co., Ltd., along with Hinode Water Supply Equipment Co., Ltd., have signed a business partnership agreement to jointly develop, produce, and sell mineral casting products, leveraging their respective technological expertise for mutual growth. Mineral casting is a type of polymer concrete made by solidifying resin and aggregates. It uses ores of varying particle sizes as aggregates, bonded with epoxy resin, and is a high-performance composite material widely used in industrial machinery applications in Europe and other regions, where high precision and high-speed operation are required.

On June 22nd (Tuesday), at Tochigi Prefectural Nasu Seihō High School, we received a request from the high school for a career development support project, and "Hinode Waterworks Co., Ltd." conducted an on-site class. The theme of the lecture was "About Castings and Manhole Covers," and during the 2nd and 3rd periods, a total of 42 participants, including 3rd-year mechanical engineering students and teachers, attended the session.
