The LFP "Link Fault Pass Through" feature of the IMC-21A can overcome issues encountered when using traditional media converters. Specifically, older products continue to send packets from the opposite port even when there is a link failure on one side. This results in waiting for a response from the disconnected port. The "Link Fault Pass Through" feature of the IMC-21A immediately detects a link failure on one side and stops the link on the opposite side, allowing the user's application software to respond quickly to the disconnection.
