This is a 3D ToF sensor that can be used for "people flow measurement" to count individuals passing through corridors and entrances. ■ Mechanism for capturing people flow with ToF sensor The ToF sensor measures distance based on the time it takes for light to travel back and forth. It captures space as a surface like a camera and outputs depth (distance) data for the entire screen in a single shot. Since it provides numerical data for height from the floor and front-back position, it can be used to count individuals passing by one by one or to track the direction of movement (flow). Being a self-emitting light method, it can obtain distance data even in dark surroundings. ■ Measurable distance (as per manufacturer data sheet) - Without sunlight: approximately 7m - With sunlight: approximately 3m * Measurement conditions: at 15fps / flat surface with reflectivity over 70% / indoor lighting / 23-25°C Sunlight can create noise in measurements, so the measurable distance is reduced under direct sunlight. When installing on ceilings or columns, please ensure that the distance from the sensor to the person falls within the above range. It can be used indoors in corridors, entrances, and sales areas, as well as outdoors and semi-outdoors where sunlight is present, as long as it is within the measurable distance range.
