Composite materials engineered fibers
Composite materials, engineered fibers, friction materials, ceramic materials, coatings, adhesives, mold release agents, and various other applications. Not subject to RCF regulations.
Engineered fibers are inorganic fiber products that can exhibit excellent characteristics as composite materials by adding them to raw material. The fiber length can be adjusted from 20μm to 1000μm to suit various applications. By removing shots (non-fiber particles) present in the product, it is possible to increase the fiber index (fiber content) to as high as 99%. It is a polycrystalline fiber that is classified as PCW and is not subject to RCF regulations.
basic information
■Applications - Friction materials - Ceramic materials - Coatings - Adhesives - Molding agents ■Features - Inorganic fibers - Heat resistance (maximum operating temperature 1,260 to 1,600°C) - Average fiber diameter 2 to 6 µm - Large surface area due to fiber shape - Lightweight and reinforcement effect of added products - High hardness
