Block resistance design to reduce the Joule-Thomson effect.
The BR series back pressure regulators with block resistance. This series is particularly ideal for specialized applications such as supercritical CO2 (SCO2) extraction, but is also useful in any process where clogging, blockage, or freezing may occur. This series integrates unique design features that allow customers to achieve precise control by reducing the Joule-Thomson effect as supercritical process fluids pass through the unit. The main design feature of this regulator series is a downstream expansion cavity that continuously increases the cross-sectional area to eliminate convergence points caused by ice accumulation. Furthermore, this large thermal capacity increases the heat transfer area for heating the discharge fluid in multiple ways. Finally, this series has specially designed O-ring grooves to reduce stress during rapid depressurization, extending the lifespan of the O-rings. This series offers several custom fitting options, including outlet flanges, tube stubs, or NPT fittings.
