The Cambridge-made micro-sample viscometer is a product that can perform measurements of small quantities on a tabletop. It can measure small samples ranging from 1.5ml to 2ml, with viscosities from low viscosity up to a maximum of 20,000 cP. The measurement method is based on a falling body principle, which is particularly effective for measuring low viscosity fluids. The operation is automated; simply introduce the sample into the measurement chamber, and it will measure automatically, providing good reproducibility and high reliability, requiring no special skills from the operator. The product comes in two series, VL3000 and VL4000, with the VL4000 available for demonstrations at our lab or at a location specified by the customer. In addition to tabletop products, the manufacturer also produces process-type viscometers using the same measurement method, allowing for comparison and verification of process data against measurement data confirmed in the laboratory, leading to more precise process control.
