The body and all wetted parts of the MK978 stainless steel control valve are made of ASTM A479-316L bar stock. The product is sealed at the stem by a Jorlon diaphragm that is FDA approved and USP Class VI certified, and comes with a lifetime warranty. The valve stem has sufficient structural strength in any mounting orientation due to two long PEEK guide bushings and an integrated stainless steel NAMUR yoke. The sliding parts of the valve stem and plug are located outside the diaphragm wetted area at the top of the valve. FB5C operates by sensing the pressure or back pressure of the fluid supplied to the underside of the diaphragm from the side-mounted inlet. Back pressure above the set pressure compresses the spring through the load force of the diaphragm, causing the stem to function in an open state from the seat. As the flow increases and the back pressure is discharged, the forces from the spring and diaphragm are relieved, allowing the stem to return to its normally closed position. Changing the set pressure can be done simply by turning the adjustment screw to increase or decrease pressure within the range of the regulator spring settings.

FB6C operates by sensing the pressure on the underside of the diaphragm on the downstream side of the seat.
