Sample gas dryer
A dedicated dryer for atmospheric analyzers minimizes particle loss while controlling humidity.
The MD-700 dryer can perform accurate analysis at various flow rates while minimizing particle loss along with moisture removal. To minimize particle loss in atmospheric particle measurements, the sample gas needs to flow through the dryer in a laminar state. We have implemented a method using a Nafion large-diameter tube, which is an ion exchange membrane, to maintain laminar flow of the sample gas while removing moisture. Unlike desiccant-type dryers, there are no regularly replaceable components in this dryer, and it is essentially maintenance-free.
basic information
Permapure Inc. has been molding DuPont's Nafion material into ion exchange membrane tubes and supplying dryers for analytical instruments for many years. The MD-700, especially designed for atmospheric analyzers, incorporates new innovations not only to remove moisture but also to minimize the loss of fine particles. The tube has a large diameter, allowing the sample gas flowing through it to maintain a laminar flow before being introduced into the analyzer.
