The "porous pitot tube" Barflow tube is not a throttling structure like an orifice or venturi, allowing for very low permanent pressure loss. With multiple total pressure measurement holes and static pressure measurement holes provided, it can measure the average flow velocity within the piping and detect stable flow rates.
