Kashima Environmental Engineering will launch a traceability system that records the recycling process from waste generation to becoming recycled resources, improved from the electronic manifest ASP "KENET," starting in December. According to the Japan Industrial Waste Treatment Promotion Center, the supplementary rate of electronic manifests is expected to reach 64.5% in the fiscal year 2024. Even waste that does not require a manifest, such as process scraps, can utilize this system to input the production process of recycled resources, enhancing the reliability of proof regarding the origin and manufacturing history by attaching blockchain technology. A pilot version has been available since August, and the blockchain records for the shipment of recycled resources will be completed in December. Preparations for implementation are currently underway with multiple companies. The necessity of traceability is being discussed in the construction domain working group of the Circular Partners initiative by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and by promptly providing services for waste traceability systems, we aim to support the expanding resource circulation business.
