The "Me fix type R" is a long steel pipe reinforcement method that aims to improve the adhesion strength, which has been a weakness of previous steel pipe reinforcement methods, and ensures reliable ground confinement. The "type R (RASEN concept)" features a helical grooved steel pipe that possesses adhesion strength equivalent to that of conventional grooved GFRP pipes. When using general steel pipes with a smooth surface, the number of pipes required may increase due to insufficient adhesion strength.
