[Case Study] Non-Wetting Mist Cow Barn Cooling System 'CoolPescon'
Cooling the cow body and barn by 3-5°C without getting them wet! Introducing case studies of 'CoolPescon'!
At Maruo Farm in Hyogo Prefecture, the "CoolPescon" system was introduced and installed in September 2014. The conventional fine mist cooling system addresses the issue of elevated body temperature in cows by wetting and cooling them. However, this also results in wet bedding, raising concerns about mastitis due to bacterial growth. After the full operation of this system, it was able to cool the cows and bedding without getting them wet, reducing the temperature inside the barn by 6°C even on hot summer days, significantly contributing to the reduction of heat stress in cows. [Case Study] - Maruo Farm (Hyogo Prefecture) - Raising 120 dairy cows - Requirement: A cooling system that does not pose a risk of mastitis - Implementation Effects: - Compared to 8 cull cows during the same period before implementation, there were zero cull cows after implementation. - Increased milk production: Approximately 10 tons/month increase compared to the previous year. *We also have case studies from Kawagishi Farm in Hyogo Prefecture.
