Our company manufactures equipment for welding plastic pins. This involves inserting a component (made of resin or rubber) into a main substrate (resin) where multiple pins are protruding, applying heat to the pins to melt them, and transforming them into a shape resembling a rivet head (mushroom-shaped) to secure the inserted component. Currently, we have mainly two types of methods. The first is a specification that crimp all the pins simultaneously. The machine cycle time (MCT) is relatively short, approximately 20 to 30 seconds. The second method is a specification that crimp each pin individually. This utilizes a 3-axis robot, which offers the advantage of easily accommodating a variety of products, and allows for fine adjustments in coordinates that can be easily performed by the customer (special software may be required). Additionally, both methods can be customized according to customer requirements, including safety sensors, image processing, ejection mechanisms, and component verification sensors, tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients.
