[Data] Piezo Sensor ● Head Amplifier Circuit Example ●

Here is an example of a head amplifier circuit suitable for piezo sensors (PVDF sensors)!

A piezo sensor is a film-type sensor developed using piezo film (polymer piezoelectric film) that generates electric charge when mechanically or thermally stimulated. Since it is a film, it is very thin and flexible! It can be processed into any shape. But what kind of head amplifier circuit should be used? Dr. Piezo will answer such questions. basic information

Piezo film is a polymer piezoelectric and pyroelectric film developed using KF polymer, a polyvinylidene fluoride resin created by Kureha Corporation. Its features are: 1. Being a polymer film, it is thin, light, and flexible. ⇒ Available in four thicknesses: 28μm, 40μm, 80μm, and 110μm. 2. Compared to inorganic piezoelectric materials, it has a low relative permittivity (ε’=13), demonstrating a high piezoelectric g constant (g31=0.22 Vm/N). ⇒ Suitable for sensor applications. 3. The acoustic impedance is close to that of water. ⇒ Suitable for hydrophones, ultrasonic probes, etc. 4. It does not exhibit strong resonance, meaning it has a small Q value, resulting in a wide response frequency range. ⇒ Suitable for applications where signal waveform is important, such as acoustic sensors.
