Tokuyama Corporation, founded in 1918 as a domestic manufacturer of soda ash, is a comprehensive chemical company that produces cement and various chemical products. At the Tokuyama manufacturing plant, which produces cement, there are three rotary kilns that operate continuously 24 hours a day to calcine limestone, the raw material for cement, and produce clinker. In such continuous operation cement plants, each kiln line is stopped once a year for inspections and maintenance of the equipment.
