FAMAT containment response sampling valve
Sampling is possible under containment conditions with high OEL single-use continuous sleeves.
The FAMAT sampling valve is used by major pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, and chemical companies around the world (Roche, Novartis, Merck, Johnson Matthey, Pfizer, Basf, GSK, Bayer, Lonza) and has received high acclaim. Designed for powder sampling, it eliminates dead space, improves cleanliness, and is designed to prevent cross-contamination. The globally patented Expanding Piston Technology (EPT) is uniquely designed to allow for the most typical sampling, where the piston expands directly against the inner wall of the valve body to seal, eliminating the need for O-rings or seats, thus reducing the risk of sample contamination. Flexible materials utilize the dedicated ILC Dover's AmorFlex anti-static, chemical-resistant reinforced film (https://www.ilcdover.com/products/armorflex-films/), ensuring clean and safe containment while providing the convenience and productivity of single-use.

Detailed information
-
Closed state The piston is at the same height as the reactor or dryer, and there is no dead space (Figure 1). A complete seal is made directly by the piston (9) against the valve body.
-
Sampling Procedure Turn the handwheel counterclockwise to lower the piston (9) to the open position. While the product flows into the sampling bottle (2), the operator can check the desired amount of the product through the sight glass (1) (Figure 2).
-
Turn the handwheel clockwise to return the piston (9) to the closed position. By turning the handwheel firmly at the end, you can eliminate dead space and achieve a reliable seal. Open the valve (25) to equalize the pressure (or vacuum) inside the chamber (V). Remove the sampling bottle (2) from the quick coupling connection (Figure 3).
-
Patent Expanding Piston Technology When the valve is in the fully closed position, rotating the handwheel by 30° to 40° causes the piston to expand within the body, ensuring a complete seal.
