Electrochemical Analysis Basics Part 3 [Technical Document]
This is the final installment of a technical booklet that gently explains the basics of electrochemical analysis equipment, which is essential for trace metal analysis in solutions and plating solution analysis, aimed at beginners!
basic information
When analytes can be concentrated into an appropriate form through adsorption onto the electrode surface and subsequently measured by oxidation or reduction using voltammetry, this combination of concentration and voltammetric measurement is referred to as Adsorptive Stripping Voltammetry (AdSV). Adsorptive concentration enables stripping voltammetry for components that cannot be concentrated or measured due to irreversible reactions at the electrode or the inability to form amalgams at mercury electrodes, making it an effective method for addition to electrolysis. It is particularly effective for aluminum, iron, cobalt, nickel, titanium, chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, antimony, vanadium, uranium, and platinum metals. Additionally, AdSV is suitable for trace analysis of various organic compounds.
