Measurement of the Drop Point of Polyolefins A commonly accepted procedure for confirming the properties of unprocessed polymers is the drop point. Pellets or powders of pure polymers or copolymers with defined drop points can be tested. The sample is melted in advance and injected into a cup set in a sample preparation tool that has been preheated in a dryer. Automated drop point measurement using DP70 allows for rapid and reliable measurements. By conducting the analysis according to ASTM D3954, excellent results suitable for comparison can be obtained.
