We will introduce examples of applications for light detection and ranging (LiDAR). LiDAR is a remote sensing method used for geospatial measurements. Pulsed laser light emitted towards surrounding objects/surfaces is partially reflected (backscattered) and recorded by a detector connected to a digitizer.
