Solution "NTP Function"
Introducing the solutions of the 'ST Series Products' for improving system management levels!
The "NTP function" refers to the Network Time Protocol (NTP), which is a function for correcting and synchronizing the system clock. It corrects the system clock by synchronizing with an external time server. If a time server is not used, it is also possible to set the time manually. By using it in conjunction with the SYSLOG function, the occurrence time of events in the output log (correlation with other devices) can be accurately grasped, thereby improving the level of system management. 【Applicable Devices】 ■ST13528M ■ST13512M ■ST13116M ■ST13512PW・ST13518PW *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.
basic information
【Image of SYSLOG Function Operation (Integration with MAC Address Authentication)】 0. Check the time with the NTP server and adjust the system clock. 1. The terminal (network device) starts data transmission (the terminal connection port is in a blocked state). 2. ST13116M receives data from the terminal, generates a RADIUS access request frame using the source MAC address as the username and user password, and sends it to the RADIUS server. 3. The RADIUS server determines authentication denial or success based on user registration information. 4. Since the source MAC address is not registered, it replies with a RADIUS access denial frame. 5. Upon receiving the RADIUS access denial frame, the terminal connection port remains in a blocked state without being opened. 6. Notify the SYSLOG server of the authentication failure (recorded on the SYSLOG server, allowing verification of unauthorized access incidents). The timestamp (time information) recorded on the SYSLOG server becomes accurate, enabling precise understanding of unauthorized access or device anomalies. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
